Student Life Office's Mission
The Student Life Office provides opportunities through leadership development, social engagement, and cultural awareness to develop the student and contribute to the holistic learning experience, enhancing the classroom experience.
About Us
The Student Life Office is the hub of co-curricular activity on campus. From the Journey Orientation for new students and including all student organizations, campus activities, fraternities & sororities, student government, cultural programming, leadership development, and volunteer opportunities the Student Life Office has something for everyone.
The events offered by the Student Life Office are sponsored by the Student Activity Fee which is paid by every student matriculated at Southern Polytechnic. Since the Student Activity Fee pays for these events, activities, and outings everything is FREE!
Student organizations allow our students to meet a variety of people, develop communication and leadership skills, practice the theories they learn in the classroom and create a wide web of networking possibilities that could lead to friendships, an internship, or even ultimately a job!
There are currently over 80 active student-run organizations that range from sports like Ultimate Frisbee, Badminton, Fishing, & Paintball to cultural groups like the Chinese Friendship Association and Society of Hispanic Engineers to faith-based groups such as the Muslim Student Association and the Baptist Collegiate Ministries. If you don't see something that you are interested in, starting an organization is pretty easy and all the resources you need can be found under the "Resources" section above.
Our number one goal is to get each student connected, involved, develop a sense of community, and HAVE FUN!
